Dr. C. Burnice Nalina Kumari, MDS, PhD, is an accomplished academician and clinician currently serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, and Associate Dean – Students Welfare at Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER), Chennai. She completed her BDS from
Meenakshi Ammal Dental College under The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University followed by MDS in Periodontics and Implantology and PhD from MAHER. Dr. Burnice has contributed as an Chapter author to both the 9th and 10th editions of Shafer’s Textbook of Oral Pathology, a landmark reference in dental education. With over 18 years of clinical and 13 years of academic experience, she has more than 80 publications in reputed national and
international indexed journals, 38 patents published, and 3 patents granted. She serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Indian Dental Association – Madras Branch and Voice of Meenakshi, the official publication of MAHER. Dr. Burnice has been honored with several prestigious awards, including the Best Dental Educator Award by the World Dental Council (2019), the Best Research Paper Award (2021), and the Most Admired Industry Professional Award (2022). A life member of the Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP) and the Indian Dental Association (IDA), she is recognized for her excellence in teaching, research, and contributions to the field of periodontology and implantology.
