Prof. Dr. Alireza Heidari, Ph.D., D.Sc. is a Full Distinguished Professor with academic tenure in Chemistry and holds the Enrico Fermi Distinguished Chair in Molecular Spectroscopy at California South University (CSU), Irvine, California, USA. He earned both his Ph.D. and D.Sc. degrees from California South University.
He completed two postdoctoral fellowships: one in Project Management, Oncology, Human Cancer Tissues, and Synchrotron Radiation at Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia; and another in Nanochemistry and Modern Molecular Electronic Structure Computation Theory at California South University.
Prof. Heidari’s research interests span a wide range of interdisciplinary fields, including biophysical chemistry; biomolecular and biomedical spectroscopy; quantum, theoretical, mathematical, numerical, and computational chemistry; nanochemistry; modern electronic structure computations; molecular modeling and simulation; ab initio and density functional methods; vibrational, ATR–FTIR, Raman, and surface-enhanced resonance Raman (SERS) spectroscopy; plasmonic and polaritonic chemistry; spectroscopy and plasmonic properties of metal clusters; biosensors, biomarkers, and molecular diagnostics; pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry; drug design and nano-drug delivery systems; oncology and human cancer tissues and cells; nucleic acid research, including DNA/RNA monitoring and epigenetic modifications; non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen and halogen bonding; molecular and biomolecular cluster dynamics; intelligent molecules; artificial intelligence and machine learning; computational biospectroscopy; and laser, synchrotron, and synchrocyclotron radiation applications.
He has participated in more than 900 reputed international conferences, seminars, webinars, congresses, summits, symposia, and scientific forums worldwide. Prof. Heidari has authored numerous publications indexed in major scholarly databases, including Web of Science, Scopus, SCIE, SSCI, AHCI, ESCI, PubMed, Medline, NLM, HEC, and PMDC.
Throughout his career, he has visited and collaborated with universities and research institutions across the globe, including in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and South America, serving as a research fellow, visiting scholar, sabbatical researcher, or volunteer researcher.
Additionally, Prof. Heidari has held visiting professor or research associate positions at several institutions, including Delaware State University and Spelman College (USA), Sheffield Hallam University (UK), the University of Freiburg (Germany), the University of Padua (Italy), the University of Cartagena (Spain), Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie (Italy), Ege University (Turkey), and Nova Southeastern University (USA).
